Bates Canon has been a licensed professional counselor since 1997. In addition to his ‘day job’, Bates began seeing clients with Sage Center Atlanta in 2017 where he worked as an independent practitioner fully aligned with their mission and philosophy of wellness and overall health. In 2022, Bates transitioned to full telemental health mode operating exclusively as mysaturdaytherapist.com.
After nearly ten years of learning about Internal Family Systems through various workshops and becoming IFS-informed, Bates participated in the Internal Family Institute Level 1 training, officially becoming IFS Level 1 Trained in January 2026. Bates is truly grateful to be integrating IFS into his overall therapeutic approach and be able to offer clients the IFS constraint release perspective for addressing life’s challenges. Beginning May 2026, Bates once again will offer In-Person sessions, now among therapy professionals operating at the Oak Grove Center in Decatur.
